§ 2-349. Sanctions.

  • Violations of any provision of this division should raise conscientious questions for the board member or other official or employee concerned as to whether voluntary resignation or other action is indicated to promote the best interests of the village. Violation may constitute a cause for suspension, removal from office, or removal from employment, or other disciplinary action. If the violation is by an employee or official responsible to the village manager, disciplinary action shall be taken by him. The employee or official retains the right of appeal to the village board or a committee set up to hear such an appeal. If the violation is by an elected official, or by an official or employee appointed by the village board, disciplinary action shall be taken only by the village board. Disciplinary action shall be taken in accordance with section 2-346.
